Art Class: 10 minutes vs 1.5 hours?
Share
I started out by doing a daily 10 minute class, showing one step of a painting at a time. They were very well received! After 7 or so lessons, the painting was finished, and I even had a couple of people showing me the artwork they produced.
Then, I thought "More must be better!" so I decided to do a whole painting from start to finish. I did it twice.
Which do you think is better? Which do you think people preferred?
I was surprised, more people watched and participated in the 10 minute ones.
Which, now that I think about it makes sense. In 10 minutes I really only have enough time to show one process, one technique. And then, you can go away and replicate it, much like you do when I teach a class. It is always in short portions.
So there you have it. I have decided to teach a daily 10 minute class, on weekdays. And if you follow along, you will complete a painting within 5-7 sessions.
Have fun!
